Double Helix 1.05 Captain Dylan Hunt must save the Andromeda Ascendant from the Nietzscheans, who are trying to persuade Tyr to help them destroy the Andromeda and to rebuild his life as a Nietzschean.

The Andromeda is left highly exposed and in direct firing line of the Nietzscheans supremely powerful plasma cannon.

In a deathly game of subterfuge and double-cross, the Andromeda is hit by the plasma cannon following which the Nietzscheans swarm over the ship with Tyr in the lead.

To ensure the Nietzscheans never gain control of the ship, Dylan sets the Andromeda Ascendant to self-destruct with all on board.

Angel Dark, Demon Bright 106 Dylan is faced with a traumatic decision when the Andromeda Ascendant accidentally travels a slipstream - back in time - arriving just prior to the battle that all but ended his life, and brought about the demise of the Nietzschean race and the Systems Commonwealth.

The Andromeda crew are faced with a potential to moderate the outcome of history.

But they witness three times as many Nietzschean ships than historically recorded, Dylan, much to Tyrs dismay, is forced to destroy an extra thousand starships.
