By 1975, after 13 years of the race being held at Bathurst, it had firmly established itself as an annual race legend, one never to be forgotten in the history of Australian motor sport.
In that year it was Peter Brock back with Brian Sampson, who led a Holden swamping with the Torana SLR, then the Hollywood script-win of Bob Morris and John Fitzpatrick in 1976 - the year the Toranas again swamped the field.
